How to Access Yahoo mail from outlook and thunderbird

Unfortenatelly, Yahoo disable a POP3 setting, it means you can not open an email with email client such as microsoft outlook or thunderbird except you paid yahoo.Meanwhile, another email service such gmail, msn give a user free POP3.
Switching yahoo mail to another service is difficult, because email is your address and identity in the internet. Change email means you must update your facebook account, twitter or even paypal. Yet you must tell all of friends about your new email. But I have founded a new way to access POP3, so you can open it in a outlook.
YPOPs! is a free software (freeware) and open source that allows you to access yahoo mail from thunderbird or microsoft outlook. You can download it at sourceforge. And as soon as install the software in your computer.
How to use this software? For the example I am going to use outlook as preview.
- Open “Outlook Express”, Click “Tools > Accounts”
- Click “add> Mail Button”
- Type your name then click Next
- Type the your email yahoo address then click next
- Be sure to choose “My incoming mail server” is POP3. Fill a 127.0.0.1 in a “Incoming (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) mail server” and “Outgoing (SMTP) mail server’” box.
- it is like when you logged into yahoo! mail via web, type your ID and the password. Click nexr
- Click Finish. The internet account box will back appear with addtional 127.0.0.1′s account
- Click this new acoount, then click properties’s button.
- Change the account’s name to YPOPs
- Click the “servers” tab, and activate a Checkbox in “My server requires authentication”
- Click advanced’s tab, and change the “server timeouts” become 5 minutes
- In order to email messages in yahoo! is not deleted after download, activated the leave a copy of messages on server’s checkbox.
- Click close! And you had finished a yahoo pop3 settings in outlook with YPOPs!.
Now you can mange your Yahoo mail like manage another email POP. Click the send/Recv to get email from Yahoo! server and send your email draft. This way can also be added in the thunderbird settings.
